Funnily enough most people that win the lottery spend most of their money in a couple of years and end up with debts and mortgages they just can't afford
Somebody did a study on a this. They gave a homeless person $100,000 to do whatever he liked with it provided they could monitor him. He ended up spending it all in under 6 months because he just didn't know how to handle that kind of money, the number was so big to him that it seemed infinite when we all know 100,000 is a lot but still won't get you far when you start eating in 5-star restaurants and buying all your friends motorbikes.
It generally equates to what the average person is like when he gets a couple of million.

Oh no, I can give a quite pithy one this time: I don't think I have the time to buy anything. If I invest my money, I can spend my time reading instead. Or, you know, perhaps talking with people. If I could find anyone worth spending my time with.
(Though I would never say so openly, I find most of the people I meet to be overwhelmingly dull. I am aware it's my own flaw. I don't deny my fallibility, but I also don't repress it in my own mind.)

People aren't dull, just they're generally not their selves around people they don't know or are trying to keep up a facade. Course I say this because I'm incredibility dull then you first meet me and probably afterwards too

I was actually referring primarily to people I do associate with frequently. I'm lenient in my judgments of people I don't know. They usually do have interesting things to say, if you can coax them into it.

Yes, it's a shame. I'm not cruel enough to get rid of people I dislike.
Probably because I do expect too much. Or rather, than what I would like isn't to be found. It's a shame, but I haven't found anyone who enjoys the same things as I do. Except some of my doctors and the occasional librarian, but that hardly counts. They aren't peers, we don't associate on a social level, so... Oh well. Can I be blamed for liking my own company best?

I've tried. I have found a few people who I enjoy talking to, but we rarely see each other. As for my family... they don't enjoy much beyond eating, watching television, and playing video games.
Occasionally my mother will want to go bowling or miniature golfing or bowling, or my brother will want to play some sport... but either of those would be compromises for me. I wouldn't mind doing them more frequently, but they're never reciprocated.

I admit, my own judgments of people are exceedingly harsh. But that's partially because I have a low opinion of people in general. I certainly would never say anything like that to their faces.
